MCD mayoral polls on Nov 14 with tenure limited to 5 months

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will hold mayoral polls on November 14, according to an official of the civic body.
MCD mayoral polls on Nov 14 with tenure limited to 5 months

The tenure for the Dalit candidate, however, will be truncated to just five months due to a seven-month delay caused by a political deadlock between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The delay led to repeated protests and disruptions in the MCD House by opposition councillors.

The MCD on Monday announced in a notice that the adjourned meeting for the mayoral elections would be held on November 14 at 2 pm at its headquarters.
