A woman and her daughter were crushed to death in their sleep as their house was buried under the debris of a landslide that struck late Friday night in Toli village, Bhilangana block, Tehri district. Villagers had to flee their homes in the dead of night.
In another incident, a one-day-old infant from Sahiya in the Chakrata area died while being taken to a medical centre for treatment. The family's vehicle got stuck in the landslide, causing the death of the newborn.
