WEST Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday reacted strongly to statements by a section of Bangladeshi politicians that Bangladesh has legitimate claims over Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.

Calling the statements absurd, she said, "you will occupy Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha, and we will have lollipops?"

Addressing the Assembly, Banerjee condemned the circulation of certain fake videos on this side of the border and blamed a certain political party for attempting to stoke tensions in the state. In a recent public meeting in Dhaka, a BNP leader had said that Bangladesh has legitimate claims over Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.
