Power tariff in Kerala hiked by 16 paise

GET ready to pay more for your power bill as the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) has approved a tariff hike of 16 paise per unit on an average with effect from December 5, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

Power tariff in Kerala hiked by 16 paise

From April 1, 2025, consumers will have to pay 12 paisa more, taking the overall hike to 28 paise per unit on an average in the 2025-26 fiscal.

According to a senior KSEB official, the hike would mean that a consumer with a monthly consumption of 100 units would pay around ₹15 more per month as energy charges. For a consumer with a monthly consumption of 200 units, the monthly hike in energy charges would be around ₹34. A consumer of 500 units a month will have to shell out around ₹90 more.
