C clears way for ACB probe against BRS working president, focusing on whether he acted dishonestly to benefit himself or third parties
NAIDU @ Hyderabad

The Telangana High Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition by former minister KT Rama Rao seeking the quashing of an FIR in the Formula-E race case, ruling that the allegations against him warranted further investigation.

Rama Rao, accused of misappropriating funds from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) for the 2023 Formula-E car race, is facing charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Justice K Lakshman, in his ruling, noted that there was prima facie evidence indicating Rama Rao's involvement in directing HMDA funds to a foreign company without the requisite approval from the State Cabinet or Finance department. The court stated that the investigation needed to ascertain whether Rama Rao acted with dishonest intent to benefit himself or third parties.
