Canada says other Indian diplomats 'clearly on notice'

THE diplomatic row between India and Canada continues as the Canadian foreign minister Melaine Joly said that the remaining Indian diplomats in Canada are "clearly on notice", a statement that came after Ottawa expelled six Indian envoys earlier this week.

India-Canada bilateral relations hit rock bottom after Canada named Indian diplomats as "persons of interest" in the probe into the murder of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

"The Indian diplomats clearly on notice. Six of them have been expelled, including the High Commissioner in Ottawa. Others were mainly from Toronto and Vancouver and clearly, we won't tolerate any diplomats who are in contravention of the Vienna convention," Joly said on Friday.
