ETCHING FINESSE ON SILVER

Then walking into a starry shimmer closet made not just for function, but of dreams.

In a world where the finest wardrobes feature exquisite woods, with an extravagant blend of creativity and solid silver metal, a one-of-a-kind piece by Sukra Jewellery turns heads. The company has created the world's largest silver wardrobe and has entered Guinness World Records with this unique masterpiece.

Unveiled on October 22, the wardrobe exudes ideas about what it would take to build, preserve, and treasure such creations. Nithin Kalkiraju, CEO and head of design at Sukra Jewellery, takes CE through the ideation process and making of the showpiece, and also its exhibition.

Steps to success

Establishing the business in 1979, on the day of Vijaya Dasami, Nithin says, "We celebrate our 45th anniversary in this line of work, this year, and we wanted to do something extraordinary." Starting the ideation process around February-March, the team decided to do what they are best at establishing. "A world record is a remarkable feat. We wanted to set a world record as that would be a good way to celebrate our milestone anniversary," he shares.
