Indo-German ties bright spot amid chaos: PM

IN an effort to strengthen bilateral ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in New Delhi and stated that the strategic partnership between India and Germany has emerged as a strong anchor amid global uncertainties.

"The world is passing through times of tensions, conflicts and uncertainty. In the Indo-Pacific region, there are serious concerns about the rule of law and freedom of navigation. In times like this, the strategic partnership between India and Germany has emerged as a strong anchor," Modi said.

Participating in the 7th intergovernmental consultations with the German Chancellor, Modi noted that the relationship between India and Germany is a transformational partnership between two capable and strong democracies, rather than a mere transactional one.
