Post-Independence history gave credit only to select heroes, says Dhankhar

Speaking as the chief guest at a function celebrating the birth anniversary of freedom fighter, journalist and revolutionary Raja Mahendra Pratap, Dhankhar said history books have been unjust to several unsung heroes of India.

"Our history has been manipulated and doctored, creating a monopoly of a few who are credited with gaining us independence," he remarked, describing the distortion as an unbearable pain and a burden on India's soul and heart.
