Intraday, the currency plunged 21 paise to an all-time low of 84.30 against the greenback.
The rupee depreciated 21 paise to an all-time low of 84.30 (provisional) against the dollar Wednesday, but recovered most of the ground to close the day at 84.237, as per the RBI rates. The rupee trouble was also due to the unabated FII selling; the benchmarks rallied more than 1.2 percent each today.
