Will Take Appropriate Steps At Appropriate Time, Says Oppn

A DAY after Lok Sabha election results threw up big surprises, the Opposition INDIA bloc ended the suspense over the possibility of staking its claim on the government formation, saying the alliance will continue its fight against the fascist rule.

Speaking after a meeting of the INDIA bloc leaders, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said the INDIA bloc will continue to fight against the fascist rule of the BJP led by Modi and "take appropriate steps at an appropriate time to realize people's desire not to be ruled by the BJP government".

The development comes as a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders unanimously chose Narendra Modi as their leader for the NDA 3.0 on Wednesday. Modi is expected to take oath as Prime Minister for the straight third term on June 8.

Kharge further said that the Lok Sabha poll results were a "befitting reply to the BJP."
