The Philippine Star|December 22, 2024
After winning a pair of gold medals in the Paris Olympics courtesy of Carlos Yulo last August, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines once again delivered the good news by gaining the right to host the 2025 Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
JOEY VILLAR

"In July 12 to 21, we will have the Junior World Championships here in the Philippines with 93 countries participating," said GAP president Cynthia Carrion yesterday.

While the official venue hasn't been determined yet, Carrion said there are high hopes the country could carve out another golden performance from another Yulo - Carlos' younger brother Karl Eldrew.

'HOLD ME CLOSE': AN UNDERRATED MOVIE THAT IS WORTH A MUCH CLOSER LOOK

'Hold Me Close' is a fairytale of sorts and a slice of life, the cinematic equivalent of an impressionist painting. It is a plot-driven movie where the two protagonists react to external occurrences over which they feel they have no control. Julia Barretto (as Lynlyn) and Carlo Aquino (Woody) play off each other excellently, exhibiting such layered and nuanced acting that is nothing short of excellent. One must watch the characters' expressions closely to truly appreciate how well-acted the film is.Those with only a superficial knowledge of films may never get what \"Hold Me Close\" is all about.
