The Philippine Star|October 03, 2024
The University of the Philippines has announced the top 25 passers in the 2024 UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT), entitling them to free tuition and a monthly allowance of P5,250.
- Neil Jayson Servallos

UP president Angelo Jimenez said the 25 students, representing the top 0.04 percent of the takers, were the first batch of Oblation Scholars since the UPCAT took a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jimenez said the "remarkable achievement" of the 25 students has set them on a path of greatness as Oblation Scholars are envisioned by the university to "become leaders of the country." "No other university has this kind of dominant presence at the national level. So much power to influence where this nation will go.
