The Deputy Secretary to the Government of West Bengal has requested both the District Magistrates of Darjeeling and Kalimpong to put on hold works relating to the scheme for distributing homestead pattas in the tea garden under Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation departments in Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) area until further order.

The Deputy Secretary has issued the order yesterday in response to GTA Chief Executive Anit Thapa, who requested Chief Secretary, HK Dwivedi on Monday (11 September) to put on hold the ongoing survey and other works until the issue is resolved.
