The summit of the heads of the G7 countries Japanese began in the city of Hiroshima on Friday. The meeting takes place without the presence of China and Russia and the draft agenda wants the member countries to take a unified stand against them.
China is criticised for her aggressive attitude in the Indo-Pacific region and Russia for the Ukraine war. Neither are members of the G7.
The summit begins with difference of opinion among the member nations on the agenda note condemning China and Russia. But Japan has been very straightforward in preparing the agenda note criticising China and Russia for the aggression of the former and for waging the Ukraine war in case of the latter.
However, coming out with something concrete against the nuclear weapons out of the G7 is another major intention of Prime Minister Kishida of Japan, who holds the presidency of G7 and that is why the venue of the summit has been fixed in Hiroshima, a city which was devastated by atomic bomb in 1945.
