India has achieved financial inclusion targets in just 6 years which would otherwise have taken at least 47 long years.”
“Compliments to our robust digital payment infrastructure and the spirit of our people. It is equally a testament to rapid progress and innovation,” Mr Modi said. The G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion document prepared by World Bank has lauded transformative impact of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in India over the past decade. In fact, DPI’s impact has extended beyond inclusive finance.
The document highlights the groundbreaking measures taken by the Central government and the pivotal role of government policy and regulation in shaping the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) landscape.
Lauding India’s DPI approach, the World Bank document notes that India has achieved in just six years what would have taken about five decades.
