They were demanding justified and corruption free WBCSC recruitment process, transparent merit list and increase in vacancies.
They also held a protest at the higher education department.
The protesting members said that on 1 September, merit panels of four of the subjects were published by the West Bengal College Service Commission for faculty recruitment in the state-aided colleges. The subjects are philosophy, history, political science and economics.
Protesting the sheer lack of transparency and small number of vacancies, more than 100 research scholars and teacher aspirants protested and submitted a memorandum to WBCSC and the state higher education department.
