The Austin Sheerline is a huge car and looks like the younger brother of the Rolls Royce. The car is hugely spacious and has a majestic look and when it moves on the street its elegance can be felt from a distance.
The vehicle was used by the British Army till 1947. After India became free on 15 August 1947, the car was used by the Indian Army, among others, by none other than Field Marshal KM Carriappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Army of Free India. It was stationed in Delhi.
