This comes even as ticket prices to some destinations such as Japan and Taiwan have dropped when compared with September.

Airfares to some destinations during the school holidays have gone up significantly from pre-pandemic prices, according to travel platforms and agencies.

A one-way ticket for an adult to South Korea from Singapore is 78 percent more expensive on average for all travel classes during the year-end school holidays - which start at Nov 19 at the earliest - compared with the same period in pre-Covid-19 times.

Tickets to the Philippines are seeing a similar increase of about 70 percent on average for adult oneway tickets for all cabin classes during the same period. For flights to Kuala Lumpur, the cost of an economy-class return ticket has risen by up to 50 percent from Dec 19 to 31.
