Congress ship is sinking, but no one is bothered

Many leaders think Rahul Gandhi is wasting time by going on his Nyay Yatra.
AJIT MAINDOLA

Most analysts believe that if Rahul does not cancel his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra journey in time, the Congress will suffer a significant loss even before the general elections start in little over a month’s time. Rahul should return to Delhi soon and reorganize the party structure, giving responsibility to those who can meet with party leaders and workers, listen to their concerns, and find solutions, is the belief. Rahul Gandhi must also understand that the turmoil in the party is entirely the responsibility of the organization’s general secretary, K.C. Venugopal, after him. At the third rung of the ladder is national president Mallikarjun Kharge, who cannot do anything out of his own will. Instead of strengthening the organization, they all are busy cheering for Rahul.

The biggest mistake of the Gandhi family was that all three power centers came from the same family. Sonia Gandhi should have retired from politics the day she handed over the responsibility to Rahul in 2013. She continued to advice from behind the curtains. The daughter, Priyanka, should have stayed away from politics for now. Due to this triangular struggle, the party is in its current situation. Reports of tension between siblings started emerging. The only correct move was made by the organizational general secretary Venugopal, whose experienced politics compensated for everything.
