CHILDREN as young as nine are turning their hand to lawn bowls.
Traditionally, the genteel game has almost exclusively attracted older folk.
But player numbers fell 12% during the pandemic and there were fears the sport might not recover.
Now young recruits are helping reverse the decline after game chiefs created a one-hour version of the game in a bid to "shift the demographic".
