HUGE tailbacks at Dover and waits of more than 14 hours risked ruining thousands of Easter holiday plans.
The Port of Dover declared a critical incident because of the delays, blaming bad weather and lengthy border checks.
Among those waiting were coaches of school kids heading to mainland Europe as the two-week holidays began.
