65-year-old woman poisons disabled son, tries to take own life

Madhunamma, whose husband died 15 years ago, has been taking care of her son. Off late, she was not keeping well due to nuro problems. Police suspect she took extreme step due to fear of her son being left alone in case she dies of the ailment

Hyderabad: A woman, who was worried about the well being of his physically challenged son, allegedly killed him and later attempted to commit suicide in Jammikunta in Karimnagar district on Friday.

Local police said that Kumar, 27, died after he ate food laced with poison. His mother Madhunamma, 65, is battling for life.
