While the exact numbers of Indians trapped by the Myawaddy mafia is not clear, two workers from Karimnagar stuck there have said that they are aware of at least 25-30 people from Telangana.
Several IT companies operate from Myawaddy, which is not far away from the IT SEZ area at Mae Sot in Thailand, the main hub of the 'slave labour' racket.
"We are scared of the situation here. We want to be rescued at the earliest," one of the men from Karimnagar told TOI, adding that they have already brought their plight to the notice of the Indian embassy in Yangon.
The two said that while one of them had his leg broken, the other man's ear was damaged by their controllers.
