Do what’s best for India: PM’s advice on oil

EAMS Jaishankar on Saturday said PM Modi did not yield to pressure amid soaring oil prices, reports PTI. “Due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, petrol prices doubled. We had pressure from where to buy the oil but PM Modi and government were of the view that we’ve to do what is best for our nation and if pressure comes, we should face it,” he said. The PM’s intervention led to the US granting India a special exemption on raw materials for desi vaccine makers, he said.
