Right from its inception, music has been integral to Hyderabad’s cultural heritage. Be it traditional, classical renditions — it flourished during the Qutub Shahi and early Asaf Jahi periods — or western bands that made their way during the rule of the later Nizams, there was always room for all forms of music.

Hyderabad: 

While the British had its band perform at the Residency in Koti, which often played host to dignitaries from Europe, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan and Mir Osman Ali Khan had their own troupe of western musicians, who played at the Public Gardens – Bagh-e-Aam.
