Industry experts to teach emerging tech as university faculty members

Hyderabad: Experts from the industry will now be hired as faculty for engineering colleges in the state as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) is mulling roping them in to teach courses, especially those related to emerging technology.

The option is made available for colleges affiliated to JNTUH and autonomous as well. The decision was taken after the University Grants Commission (UGC) made a provision to hire a ‘Professor of Practice’ (PoP) and communicated the rules for hiring with the universities across the country.
