Methodical Moves For Heritage Tag Laudable

Any recognition for a city’s heritage is possible only through a systematic and multidisciplinary approach rather than fragmented measures. It is heartening to see the various steps being taken to make Hyderabad ready for the World Heritage City tag too.

Recently, the city-level committee was created as per the Telangana Heritage Act, 2016 under GHMC. As many as 25 historic structures with ‘area’ level significance were identified to be taken up for restoration to preserve their ‘historic identity’. This will pave way for ‘place makers’ in the city.
