Norms junked: Employees in poll-bound districts get their salaries ahead of time

Hyderabad: Government employees in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri and Nalgonda districts too received a poll bonanza — their salaries, a week in advance — courtesy the Munugode bypoll.

The employees in these two districts were pleasantly surprised when they were given priority over the usual salary disbursement order each month and were paid their wages on Tuesday (November 1).

Due to budget constraints, the state government has not been paying salaries of all employees at once, but instead pays them in an alphabetical order (of the names) of districts. At the same time, employees in Suryapet, which was part of the former Nalgonda district, did not have their accounts credited with salaries.
