Old City bylanes shrink, RaGa walks in dad’s footstep through sea of supporters

Hyderabad: Old City may be the stronghold of Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM, but on Tuesday Rahul Gandhi was the cynosure of all eyes as a large number of people, including women and children, lined up on either side of the road — many even peering out from their balconies — to watch the Nehru-Gandhi scion walking through the narrow lanes.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Hyderabad in the morning with Rahul Gandhi resuming his evening part of the walkathon from Puranapul, the symbol of love. He walked through Hussaini Alam and the Laad Bazaar market, famous for bangles. Speaking to TOI, several men, women and youth said: “He is Rahul Gandhi. Ek baar dekhna tho bantha hai.”
