
The court initially remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days subsequent to which they filed a bail application.
They were arrested by Vartak Nagar police for allegedly assaulting a businessman inside a multiplex and stalling a show of the Marathi movie 'Har Har Mahadev' on Monday. Awhad had stalled the show alleging the movie distorted the facts and depicted historic characters in poor light.
The magistrate after hearing both the sides granted him and other 11 bails on a bail bond of Rs15,000.
Amid protests by NCP workers outside Vartak Nagar police station, Awhad and 11 others were brought to the magistrate court of BS Pal in the court building amid tight security.
