A 24year-old history sheeter pretending to be a BMC officer walked into Highland Park, one of the oldest, high-profile gated towers in the locality, went to the eighth floor and accused a wealthy builder's wife of renovating her house without proper permission.
When she called her husband, who was in Lonavla, the criminal, Akshay Dhotre, attempted to snatch her chain and fled when house workers rose to her defence. He was arrested later and had a trail of crimes behind him.
