Maharashtra's Covid graph, however, dipped by 55% in the same period. While the state registered 8,319 cases in March, the number fell to 3,708 in April, as per the state Covid statistics.
BMC health officials, however, said the 20% rise in cases from 1,519 in March to 1,827 in April - in Mumbai isn't a cause for worry.
"Cases have certainly increased. We used to register less than 50 cases on an average in March, but have been seeing an average of 90+ cases for the two weeks," said BMC's executive health officer Dr. Mangala Gomare.
