Mumbai: The decision of murder accused Aaftab Poonawala’s parents to shift out of their Unique Park home in Vasai (West) three months ago had surprised residents. The family had been shifting their belongings in batches from their old home since their move and Aaftab (28) too came down from Delhi two weeks back along with his father Amin to pick up some things. “That was when they told us they had moved closer to Mumbai as their younger son had landed a job in the city,” said building secretary Abdul Khan.
The Poonawalas who lived in the one-bedroom flat for over two decades rented it out about a week ago.
“Aaftab has grown up here and it is unbelievable that he could have committed such a gruesome act,” said Khan.
