Legal aid counsel Abinash Kumar, who represented Aaftab, said metropolitan magistrate Aviral Shukla asked him: “Do you know what you have done?” Aaftab replied, “Whatever happened took place in the heat of the moment and nothing was deliberate”. The court extended his police custody by four days. Another legal aid counsel, Harshit Sagar, said, “He has not confessed to the murder in court but is cooperating with police in investigations.”
New Delhi: Aaftab Poonawalla, accused of killing his livein partner Shraddha Walkar and chopping her body into pieces, told a Delhi court on Tuesday that it had all happened “in the heat of the moment”.
