Day 2: Power cuts continue
Power cuts continued inparts of the island city and suburbs amid heavy rainfall on Friday. The longest outage was for over 12 hours in a few buildings at Antop Hill’s CGS Colony. “We were without electricity from 8pm on Thursday to 9am on Friday,” said Girish Chitre, who alleged that BEST control rooms were unavailable for assistance. Power cuts were also witnessed in parts of Ghatkopar, Mulund, Vikhroli and Ambernath. Sources said power utility firms have done preventive maintenance of equipment, including raising them in low-lying areas.
