The NCW on Thursday questioned AAP's Gujarat state unit chief Gopal Italia for his allegedly derogatory remarks against PM Modi in a video that AAP claims belongs to a time when he was not in the party.
As protesting AAP workers gathered outside its office in Jasola, NCW called police which whisked Italia away as soon as he stepped out. Delhi Police denied having detained or arrested Italia and said he was taken to Okhla Industrial Area police station "for an inquiry" and was there for about 3 hours. "Italia was not detained and only brought for inquiry at the police station after which he was let off. Police had received a complaint from NCW regarding a protest outside their office," said DCP (South East) Esha Pandey. AAP though alleged that Italia was arrested before being released.
