Pre-arrest bail for two Bhandup hosp directors

Two directors of Sunrise Hospital where a fire claimed the lives of 11 Covid patients in 2021, have been granted anticipatory bail by the sessions court after the court found that at this stage it was apparent that they had done necessary fire compliances and there was no negligence on their parts.

Grating pre-arrest bail to Delhi-based, Amit Singh Trehan (45) and Nikita Trehan (46) the sessions court last week said, “The applicants being non-experts of the firefighting subject, what is expected from them is to engage the expert person and get the audit compliances done. The applicants as an ordinary prudent persons would rely on the expert's assessment. So the applicant Nikita engaged the government-approved consultant Poona corporation who issued the form A and B certificates.”
