Speculation about the size of India's middle class took off along with the jump in economic growth. The baseline is often 1991, positive impact on growth, consumption, urbanisation and social mores. Economic growth moved to another level beginning 2004-05. It leads to the question, what happened to the size of the middle class. As TOI reported on Wednesday, think tank PRICE has done a quality survey that concludes the middle class more than doubled to over 30% of India's households. The middle class has most certainly arrived.
