New Delhi: A day after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) recommended closure of schools in view of rising pollution, several principals TOI spoke to said this should not be a permanent solution to the problem.

The move, they added, could impact children, who are finally getting their focus back after being forced off campus due to the pandemic.

On Thursday, Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 450, entering the ‘severe’ category for the first time this season.

Several parents in favour of keeping schools open said children would be breathing the same polluted air at home as well.
