First whiff of winter: Temp dips below 10°C

The minimum temperature fell below 10 degrees Celsius (9.6), the season’s lowest, on Friday and the met office said the minimum would hover around 910 degrees for the next few days. The air quality deteriorated slightly within the poor category; Stage II of the Grap will continue.

New Delhi: The minimum temperature on Friday fell below 10 degrees Celsius, the season’s lowest, as the evening hours became even cooler than Thursday.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature at the city’s base station, Safdarjung, was 9.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal. On Thursday, the minimum was 11.3 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal. At 25.9 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature was two degrees below the season’s average. It was 25.4 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
