Hit-&-run: Architect, bizman leave 70-yr-old for dead, held

A 70-year-old man, out for morning walk, was killed by a speeding car in south Delhi's Defence Colony on Sunday. Police have arrested architect Garvit Singhal and businessman Raunak Jain for the hit-and-run case.

The arrested men, both aged 28 years, are residents of Model Town. "Singhal runs a departmental store in Model Town and Jain has a business in Sadar Bazar," a police officer said.

Chandan Chowdhary, DCP (South), said that the police control room learnt about an elderly man's body lying on the pavement near the underpass on Lala Lajpat Rai Marg at 7.36 am, two hours after being hit, on September 9. During inquiry, the deceased was identified as Baldev Singh, who lived in the Lajpat Nagar with his wife. He had been out for a morning walk in Defence Colony's D Block and had received multiple injuries.
