LG approves translocation of trees from ITT, slams govt for delay in clearing files

New Delhi:

In his observation on the file, Saxena said the proposal had been pending before the environment department since June 2020 and it took “several verbal requests” and two letters to the chief minister to finally move the file.

“It is unfathomable as to why a step by an Institution of Excellence, aiming at augmenting and enhancing its academic capacity in line with the national goals, set and agreed by all, has been delayed for 2 years and 4 months,” a source quoted the LG as noting on the file. “The department of environment inordinately took as long as one year just to conduct a joint inspection of the site,” the source added.
