AAP minister Satyendar Ja-in told a Delhi court that he wasn’t “worse than” 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab and deserved a fair trial. “Please look at the kind of media reports against me,” he said. The ED said it was “completely preposterous” to assume it was behind the media leaks.

New Delhi: Delhi minister Satyendar Jain submitted to a Delhi Court that he was better than the dreaded 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab and deserved a fair trial. On Tuesday, counsel Rahul Mehta told the court on Jain’s behalf, “I am surely not worse than that. All I seek is a fair and free trial. Please look at the kind of media reports appearing against me.”

The court of special judge Vikas Dhull was hearing a contempt petition against the Directorate of Enforcement filed by Jain, who is currently in Tihar Jail, alleging the leak of a video and other information in an affidavit filed by ED on the money laundering case in which the minister is an accused.
