According to an official, this monsoon the department successfully handled a few of the major hotspots that were always flooded with rainwater, putting commuters under a lot of discomfort. However, the list of such hotspots is long and the task is still pending.
"There was hardly any waterlogging under Minto Bridge, opposite WHO building and Pul Prahladpur. This was because of the focused micro-plans we had for dealing with each area differently. We started working on them just after the last monsoon season. We are planning to do the same for the next season," said a PWD official.
