New Delhi: The city was lashed by a spell of rain that caused flooding of the roads though unlike normally, driving did not prove painful for motorists. Delhi had been receiving drizzles and light showers in some areas for the past four days, but the rain on Thursday persisted from early morning till late in the evening to leave the city enjoying the respite from the humidity and heat.

The India Meteorological Department has cautioned people to be alert after issuing a yellow warning' for Friday with a forecast of moderate rain though of less intensity than on Thursday. A slow-moving low-pressure area-aweather system that causes rain to fall in the region under its impact moving from Madhya Pradesh in a northerly direction is likely to keep the city inundated till September 25.
