Dr Bijoy Patra, a paediatrician at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, said along with cases of seasonal flu, the number of respiratory illnesses has gone up. “We are witnessing more asthmatic complications and nasal congestion nowadays,” he added.
At Fortis Hospital, post-Diwali respiratory tract issues have become predominant in the OPD as well as admissions. There is a 40% rise in OPD footfall for this issue, said paediatricians.
