Mom, dad, 2 kids found dead in rural home near Windsor

A mother, father and two young children were found dead at a home in rural southwestern Ontario in a tragedy that has devastated the local community, the area’s mayor said Friday as police offered few details on their investigation.

An investigator surveys the crime scene in in Harrow, Ont., on Friday. Police said officers were called to a home on County Road 13 in the community, about 30 kilometres south of Windsor, Thursday afternoon and found four people dead.

Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy said the loss has had a “huge impact” on Harrow, about 30 kilometres south of Windsor, Ont., and there are mounting questions on what led to the deaths.

“We never expect anything like this to happen so close to home or to happen even at all,” she said.
