Star's Paradkar awarded Massey fellowship

Shree Paradkar said she's grateful to Massey College for the opportunity, and to the Star for facilitating the fellowship.

Toronto Star columnist Shree Paradkar has been appointed one of Massey College’s William Southam Journalism Fellows for the 2024 to 2025 cohort.

Paradkar is the Star’s social and racial justice columnist, the first internal ombud at the paper and an equity advocate.

Besides Toronto, she has also worked as a journalist in Bangalore, Mumbai and Singapore.

Paradkar said she is “thrilled and honoured” to be awarded the fellowship.

“There comes a point in every journalist’s journey, you grow weary and you need to put the pen down for a bit,” she said. “How incredibly fortunate for me that I get to do just that.”
