Though for the record, the American League won Tuesday, 5-3. But here are the real winners and losers from the all-star week extravaganza in Arlington, Texas:
Winners
Expectations
The last time the game was in Arlington (1995), it was not memorable. This time, they shoved a lot into two hours and 28 minutes, the shortest all-star Game since 1988. Way to go, Rob Manfred! We got a Paul Skenes vs. Aaron Judge faceoff (even fif it lasted only one pitch). And we got a 400-foot home run from Shohei Ohtani.
Another accomplishment
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy won his second all-star game as a bench boss. He won with the National League in 2011. It gives him World Series wins and all-star game wins inboth leagues. He's one of only two managers ever to double up onboth events. Tony La Russa is the other.
